Groomsmen tip #1
Do not flirt with the bride -
I know this should go without saying but
there are those who feel they may still have a
chance to score one last time. All we can say is:
STAY AWAY from the bride as it is your best friend's
future wife!
Groomsmen Tip #2
Do not come on to the
bridesmaids. -
Unless the bride or groom give you permission, do
not try and score with multiple bridesmaids or you
are in for a long wedding as well as not being
invited over for post wedding festivities.
Groomsmen Tip #3
Do not go to jail during the
bachelor party or get the groom in criminal trouble -
No stealing, pilfering, urinating in
public, fighting, public exposure, prostituting,
streaking, drunk driving, selling illegal
substances, as well as all of the ten commandment
types of crimes. The bride to be and the newlywed's
parents will not be happy with you!
Groomsmen Tip #4
Do not get the groom overly drunk to the
point of alcohol poisoning. -
If you are not remembering where you are
and cannot form a coherent sentence, you are
probably past the point you should be drinking. It
is not cool to get the groom to the point of not
remembering his own party so make sure to party in
moderation. You can still have an awesome time with
the groomsmen.
Groomsmen Tip #5
Make sure to get your
groomsmen tuxedo or suit early and to try it on
so you don't have the wrong size, wrong fit, or even
a missing piece to the tux - I have seen this happen
before in the "eleventh hour scramble" to find
something close to what the other groomsmen are
wearing!
Groomsmen Tip #6
Don't show up late to the wedding - It is
the worst thing when the bride and groom are waiting
for your butt to get to the wedding! Make sure to
confirm what time to be there as it is customary for
the groomsmen to help out.
See our groomsmen advice page.
Groomsmen Tip #7
Don't get too drunk at the wedding. It
makes for some great stories and a YouTube video but
at your expense. Stay in control at the wedding even
if you like to party. As a groomsmen, it is also
keen to help a brother out if he is partying too
much.
Groomsmen Tip #8
Don't speak poorly about anyone at the
wedding. You should be on your best behavior and
what you say may work against you. You never know
who is listening or who is related or friends with
who.
Groomsmen Tip #9
Don't make an embarrassing
best man speech or groomsmen speech. Make sure
the best man speech is appropriate for the group you
are giving it to. Do not talk about the bachelor
party or any ex-girlfriends in explicit detail. Make
it uplifting and now embarrassing to you and the
groom.
Groomsmen Tip #10
Be a Rockstar! - Help the groom out in
every way. Be the responsible one that shines at the
bachelor party and wedding day. Your friend will be
going through a lot during the process and will need
assistance. Be organized and responsible and
encourage the other groomsmen to do the same thing
as well.
