Groomsmen Question of the Month
I have two buddies that are groomsmen at my wedding but I know they really don't care for each other due to their clashing personalities. I am concerned that they will start little fights or try to be the biggest personality at our wedding and take away from the flowing easy time we could have. What is some good groomsmen advice.

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
If you know these two groomsmen well, spend some time speaking with each individually and then together on the importance of this day for you. You may do some patch work in helping them both realize that they are alike and can join forces in their similar personalities to throw the most raging bachelor party and excellent wedding. Who knows, your wedding and pre-parties may make these two groomsmen become friends. If not, at least they can be friendly acquaintances. If they do start up, your pre-talks can result in you saying, "remember what we talked about prior to you guys coming", which will calm them down.

Groomsmen Tip of the Month
Plan as early as possible since this summer will be a busy one. Get all the groomsmen's phone numbers and email addresses. Build some excitement by starting to banter about the bachelor party as early as possible. Make arrangements early so people know how much they will need to chip in. Make sure to rent the groomsmen tuxedo as early as possible and make sure to go back for a fitting so you are not lopsided.

Groomsmen Tip of the Month
When planning the grooms parties, take into consideration who the groom is and ask him for feedback. Don't make the bachelor party all about the groomsmen since it is for the groom. Start planning early and get everyone's email addresses and phone numbers. Create a blog for your groom so everyone can be updated and you can share funny stories and pictures!

Groomsmen Question of the Month
Your website is the best one I've found for a first-time Groomsman such as myself to learn about what is expected of me. Unfortunately, I didn't find the one piece of information I was most curious about. What kind of groomsmen gift is expected of the Groomsmen? Of course I am pitching in for the bachelor party already, but is a selection from the wedding registry sufficient? Or is something more special for the groom and/or his wife expected?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
There is no expectation on what you need to get or how much to spend (as I am sure you are already spending a lot). The expenses are usually broken down for a best man you can find here. You can get a gift card, something small from the registry or something meaningful between you and the groom but don't worry about spending much as I am sure they appreciate you being there for them!

Groomsmen Question of the Month
The bridesmaids want to have a joint bachelor/bachelorette party but we want to throw an all guy ragger in Las Vegas. Any suggestions so the groomsmen aren't disgruntled.

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
This happens often. Have the groomsmen and bridesmaids all go to Las Vegas but have the guys go out one night solo and the second night combine both groups. This way, everyone wins!

Groomsmen Question of the Month
The winter is an interesting time to plan the groomsmen and groom's parties as we want to make a full day of it but it is really cold where we live. What are your thoughts?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
Plan an outing early and go to a concert, stadium game, indoor go cart racing or even poker with the groomsmen and bachelor. Bring in some talent and let the day begin! Have model servers of beer and stogies and have the time of your life. Go out later to the groom's favorite bar, club or just continue partying at a groomsmen's house or apartment. Get some stag films, drink with your buddies and have a great time!

Groomsmen Question of the Month
I am having issues with finances this season and am a groomsmen in a buddy's wedding. What would you suggest as for expenses?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
This is happening to a lot of groomsmen lately. Our suggestion is to give yourself a budget on what is realistic for being a groomsmen. For instance, borrow a tuxedo or find a cheap one with a discounted place, get a wedding gift card as a wedding gift that you can afford, and only do what you can without going overboard.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
I am new to the groomsmen scene and don't know much about my responsibilities or what I am in for. Where can I find this groomsmen information so I fit in without getting embarrassed?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
Congrats and you are not alone! I suggest you first take a look at our groomsmen advice and groomsmen etiquette which are great places to start. You can also take a look at the expenses of being a groomsmen as well as using our forums to get the input of others in the same boat. I hope this helps and have a great time.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
I am the best man and don't know the other groomsmen in the wedding. I want to include everyone who wants to be part of the festivities and want to hear of the best way to do this.

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
Ask the groom to give you everyone's email and phone numbers so you can contact them early. Call all the groomsmen first and introduce yourself asking if it is okay if you email them about updates in party planning. Create a blog or facebook page for the groom to be and give everyone the ability to post on it. Remind everyone about groomsmen etiquette. Build some excitement about the party planning and be open to everyone's feedback.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
I am the one planning the bachelor party but am not sure what I pay for as the best man. Can you help me understand my financial obligation and what is expected?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
It is customary for the best man to pay for his tux and help out with the grooms bachelor party (help pay for his bachelor party and supplies with the other groomsmen that are going) as well as a few other responsibilities that don't involve money other than travel and time. If there are any financial issues you are having, make sure to tell the groom if there is any issue so there is an understanding. The most important thing is that you are there for your buddy and that all the groomsmen have a memorable time, even if it means cutting down on the funds.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
Who should pay for the Groomsmen Tuxedo Rental? I know the groom is to buy gifts for his groomsmen, but do a groomsman buy a gift for the groom? I already plan to give a gift to the couple, but do I need to give an additional gift for the Groom alone?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
It is customary for the tuxedo rental to be paid for by each groomsmen. The groom's tux is paid for by the groom. As for groomsmen gifts, it is not customary to give a gift other than at a bachelor party as a gag gift and a wedding gift. The groom is the only person giving a groomsmen gift out to his groomsmen.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
The groomsmen of my wedding are all complaining of not having money and I feel bad about all the expenses they have to deal with. What suggestions do you have to help my groomsmen buddies out with this? Some of the groomsmen even lost their jobs recently.

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
Money is on everyone's mind lately. Our suggestions are to look at our groomsmen expenses page and see where you can cut back. For instance, you can have everyone wear black suites instead of a groomsmen tux or rent from a place that gives the best discount. Tell everyone not to go extravagant on their wedding gifts. In addition, for the bachelor party you can get cheap but fun bachelor party supplies. Also make sure to get groomsmen volume discounts wherever you go.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
My groomsmen all want to wear their own suites or tuxes for the wedding but I want a more formal look. I don't want to burden them since many of them are tight on money. What are your thoughts?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
This is a common issue since everyone spends a decent amount of money when chosen to be a bridesmaid or groomsmen. Our suggestion is to choose a groomsmen tuxedo that is economical and less expensive to rent. Also ask for group discounts since everyone is discounting in this economy. Speak with a few tuxedo rental companies and see who will give you the best rate. Your buddies will appreciate it.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
I am trying to save money during this crazy economy! How can I save on the bachelor party?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
Find a site that offers discounts, free freight and no sales tax.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
My buddies and I want to throw a rager of a bachelor party but his younger brother also wants to join us who is under 21. Have any suggestions?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
This happens a lot. A great idea is to include all groomsmen and family at a dinner or golf/game/concert and then go out after with the over 21 and non parental crowd for a crazy time.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
Me and the groomsmen are concerned about the current economy. We want to go over with the groom on what we are responsible to pay for and see if we have the funds to do this. Can you help us with what traditionally groomsmen pay for?

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
This is a current concern by many in the US. We suggest for all the groomsmen to get together and chip in to cover the bachelor party expenses for the groom (other than airfare and hotel if you are flying somewhere). Besides this, there are other groomsmen expenses you can find here.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
I was curious who pays for the groom during his bachelor party as I was told as the best man that I need to take care of his bill! Is this true as I don't have a lot of money and thought that maybe others can also chip in and help out.

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
Thank you for the email. The tradition is for all groomsmen and anyone at the bachelor party to help out and take care of their friend or family member. This is not something you need to pay for as the best man but it is always nice for everyone to take care of the groom.

Groomsmen Question of the Month
Any advice on good vendors to use for groomsmen tux rentals. I have groomsmen coming to a Boston wedding from Bangor Maine, Philadelphia and NYC. Need to find a place where they can all rent the same tux. Generally, I've not been happy with the quality of service or quality of tuxes at Men's Warehouse. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Groomsmen Answer of the Month
Thank you for the email. It is hard for most groomsmen to orchestrate the tux rentals. We suggest typing in the search engines National Tuxedo Rental and you should find the most popular places for your groomsmen. Call and ask questions, ask for volume discounts and what they will throw in as most will make a great deal in this economy for your groomsmen. Also ask your married friends for advice on where they rented tuxes for their groomsmen if they were happy with the tux experience. I hope this information is helpful at groomsmen411.com.
